Function of Minoxidil
Minoxidil directly dilates arterioles, thereby lowering blood pressure, but the exact mechanism is unknown. This
product does not dilate venules. Reduced peripheral vascular resistance causes reflex heart rate to increase and
cardiac output to increase. Increased renin activity after blood pressure reduction causes water and sodium retention.
Minoxidil is a commonly used and effective drug for the treatment of hair loss, but its pharmacological effects and
